Year level F-2 Indigenous Mathematics English Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) The Arts
The Knowing stage (year level F-2) considers the basics of money.
Knowing Growing Showing is a three part Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander resource that uses a flexible approach to meet the needs of learners. In the Knowing (year level F-2) stage, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students engage with the basics of money and develop a foundational understanding of consumer and financial literacy.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this stage students will:
- know and recognise Australian coins and notes and gain an understanding of how the money system operates
- be able to identify the difference between a want and a need
- be able to confidently and accurately handle money including counting and giving change
- develop an understanding of how money is used to access goods and services.
