This five module video-based resource aimed at VET (including apprentices and trainees) and senior high school students, features real life examples and video case studies of young people from a range of occupations. It develops money management skills and prepares students for future careers in small business or as contractors.
This resource can be used for accredited ('Be MoneySmart' elective (FNSFLT301) - part Certificate III of the Financial Services Training Package (FNS30111)), as well as non-accredited settings.

Be Moneysmart (Module 1): Saving, budgeting and spending
Students establish savings goals, create a budget and a savings plan.
Be Moneysmart (Module 2): Personal tax
Students work through various tax topics and learn the essentials of preparing and lodging a tax return.
Be Moneysmart (Module 3): Superannuation
Students compare super funds, work through a super statement and learn how to keep track of their super.
Be Moneysmart (Module 4): Debt management
Students compare debt products, learn to manage credit cards and find out what to do if debt becomes a problem.
Be Moneysmart (Module 5): Insurance
Students investigate car, home and content insurance and learn how to choose the right type of insurance and level of cover.
