Lewis lives on Wiradjuri Country with his family and has started thinking more seriously about what life after work might look like.
"My name is Lewis, originally from Walgett, Kamilaroi Country. But I've lived most of my life in Wiradjuri Country, where I met my wife and raised my two boys."
Like many people, Lewis says superannuation was not something he paid much attention to when he was younger.
“Super is not something I paid much attention to, but I certainly do now as I look at the goals that I'd like to achieve for myself and my family, going forward into retirement,” he said.

When Lewis began looking for information about retirement and superannuation, he came across Moneysmart.
"It had lots of information that I was already looking for, but it also had information that I didn't know about, and I wasn't aware of how it can affect your retirement and your superannuation," he said.
“It was a site that was quite easy to use, it was very user friendly, being able to use a variety of different things on there."
Lewis says the website helped him better understand the factors that can influence his retirement plans. One of the tools Lewis found most useful was the retirement calculator.
"There was a tool for a calculator so you could work out with what you've got now to when you'd like to retire and you could find out exactly how much money you had if that was then going to meet your needs for your retirement."
With an eye on the future, Lewis has already started thinking about how he would like to spend his time.
"At the moment retirement's a little way off, but I'm certainly looking into sorts of things that I would like to do. One of my main goals is to travel Australia."
"Looking back now after looking into retirement and my journey along the way, I'm pretty excited because of the fact that I believe now by using all the tools available that I'm going to be in a financial position to enjoy what I've worked all my life for."
